If you’ve ever caught yourself singing along in the car or humming in the kitchen, you’re already halfway there. InChorus, based in Peebles, is a local choir that’s been bringing people together for nearly twenty years, and we’re all about enjoying music in a relaxed, welcoming way.
You don’t need any experience to join. There’s no formal audition to get through, no pressure, and no expectation that you can read music. Everything is set up to make it easy. You’ll get sheet music, plus audio tracks to help you learn your part in your own time. It’s very much a “learn as you go” kind of atmosphere, with plenty of support along the way.
What makes InChorus special is the people. It’s friendly, inclusive, and genuinely good fun. Rehearsals are a chance to switch off from the day, have a laugh, and feel part of something.
Our repertoire is a mix of contemporary songs, Scottish favourites and a sprinkle of classical music, performed with energy and personality. It’s not all about being perfect, it’s about enjoying the journey and the challenge, building the sound you create together and sharing the achievement of finally nailing it with others.
We also love using our music to give something back. Throughout the year, InChorus uses their performances and events to raise money for charities and good causes. It’s a great feeling knowing that doing something you enjoy can also make a difference in the community.

Do I need to audition?
No, just come along and join in. We have four sections; Sopranos, altos, tenors and basses and we can help you find your place.
Do I need to read music?
Not at all. We’ve got sheet music and audio tracks to help you learn in whatever way works for you.
What kind of songs do you sing?
A mix of contemporary, modern Scottish favourites and some classical pieces, all sung with lots of energy and personality.
I’ve never sung in a choir before, is that okay?
More than okay. Lots of our members started the same way.
How much does it cost?
There’s a low monthly fee (currently £20 per month) to cover costs of hall hire, purchase of musical scores etc.
What do people get out of it?
A good sing, a good laugh, less stress, and a real sense of community.

Right here in Peebles on a Monday evening from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. Currently, we are in the St Andrews Leckie Hall.
